Sharing some recent Commercial Voiceover I recorded for TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) idents for the brand Astonish. They are currently airing on Series 33 of TOWIE on ITV2.
The last few years I have been busy recording audiobooks, ELT and educational audio, working with some brilliant producers across London’s studios. I have recorded with the experienced teams at Audio2020, ID Audio, Rakkit Studios, Carmelite Studios. I have worked on books for publishers such as Penguin Random House, Quercus, Bloomsbury Publishing, Hachette and Zaffre, to name a few. I’ve shared a selection below.
Trees: 10 Things You Should Know by Carolyn Fry, for Seven Dials Publishing. A fascinating non-fiction I recorded the audiobook for, which summed up the history of trees and their importance to the planet, their interconnectedness with the rest of nature and humanity, and what we can learn from them in a time of climate crisis.

The Launch Party by Lauren Forry for Zaffre. This was such a fun one to record - and my most challenging in terms of multiple characters. An Agatha Christie whodunnit style mystery set - why not - on the moon. Playful, with lots of intrigue, there was a group of 10 characters from around the globe who I had to differentiate between. I had a fabulous time giving voice to these characters!

The Sleep Watcher by Rowan Hisayo Buchanan, for Sceptre Publishing. This was a beautiful, haunting book which stayed with me long after I recorded the audiobook. It centres on a summer of sleeplessness and surreal moments as the 16 year old protagonist observes the deterioration of her parents’ marriage, and tries to make sense of what is real and what is imagined.

Elixir: In The Valley of Time by Kapka Kassabova for Penguin. A beautiful non-fiction travelogue I recorded the audiobook for, which takes us through Kapka Kassabova’s native Bulgaria. Thought provoking and lyrical, it focuses on the interconnectedness of the people, plants and place in the Mesta River region. I was lucky to work with the author’s help for the Bulgarian pronunciations of places and people integral to the work.

The Moon Gate by Amanda Geard for Headline Review. I had a blast recording this: an unfolding mystery which moved back and forward in time, crossing over the two world wars. I got to voice Australian, Irish and British characters I became very fold of as I got to know them. Funny, poignant and with a healthy amount of family secrets and intrigue.

What We Did by Natalie Chandler, for Headline Accent Publishing. This was a truly gripping thriller, set my home town of London. Full of suspense, and close friendships that start to unravel, it was a fun challenge to help deliver the build of the novel to it’s climax! I had to help differentiate between a few London characters, adn there was also a Northern character in there too to keep me busy!

Secret Letters: The True Story of A Jewish RAF officer and his family’s escape from the Nazis by John Willis, for Seven Dials Publishing. A unique book using the unpublished letters of Officer Geoffrey Myers to his family. It gives new insight into the experiences of those whose lives and families were torn apart during World War 2, as well as examples of love prevailing in the harshest of circumstances. I voiced the letters from Terry Hunt, who was married to one Geoffrey’s fellow officers.

Murder By Natural Causes by Helen for Bolinda Audio. I absolutely loved recording this audiobook, with a complex lead character Cilla who is a 22 year old contract killer. This thriller definitely has echoes of the hit series Killing Eve about it. It is a fabuolus read with dark twists and turns. And I got to bring out my best Nordic and Russian accents for some of the characters. The author was incredibly helpful in giving me background on the characters, which really helped my realisation of them.

10 Minutes to Better Mental Health: A Setp-By-Setp Guide for Teens Using CBT and Mindfulness. I felt very passionate about recording this audiobook, as I think it is a really clear and pragmatic guide for managing the challenges of mental health issues. It contains helpful exercises you can complete in under 10 minutes, to manage stress and anxiety. I was proud to voice this book, and hope it reaches teenagers who can reap the benefits of this helpful guide.
